Baking and more baking

Lately I have been on this baking kick and I am paying for it pound by pound (ahh most stop eating so much baked goods). I usually try to make some sort of homemade treat once or twice a week. But, I have found myself enjoying baking more frequently. Creating something from such natural ingredients like flour, sugar and butter and turning them into delicious treats is so fulfilling to me, it really is so relaxing and so fun for me. My dream is to open a bakery and serve yummy things to people who enjoy them just as much as I do. Of course, I would be like 500lbs but hey it's worth it.

Day one: I produced a delicious Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake with Chocolated Buttermilk Frosting. So yummy and so easy.

Day two: I whip up a batch of Snickerdoodles with George's help. Of course he eats two at time with his tiny fists clinching both cookies like it is pure heaven.

Day Three: Hungry for something sweet and savory I pull out the magic recipe for no-bake cookies. Again, I must not bake when I have no one but John and I to enjoy them.

Yummy! What do you love to bake?

Oh, you're killing me! I NEVER bake because we will just sit and eat it all that day til it's gone and pay for it later, on the scale. I have so much guilt because of my kids, I grew up with something baked in the house at all times. I have so much admiration for the bakers like you.

I think I gained 5 pds. just reading this post Sara. Looks delicious for sure. You make baking look fun. I don't bake much anymore because I have no one to eat it really. So enjoy this baking season of life.

Ahhh, those treats look so yummy!! Anything Chocolate for me is just great. As much as I like to make cake, I really don't care much for it. I love just a basic chocolate chip cookie....still warm....with really cold milk.....yum.
Now you need to share you recipes so we can all make them and be happy together! :)

ALL THOSE TREATS LOOK DIVINE! IF YOU EVER NEED SOMEONE TO TAKE THOSE OFF YOUR HANDS...

I love to bake too. Your treats look absolutely delicious with one main theme: chocolate! You know what I do? I bake and then divide the cake, cookies, etc. into little baggies in the freezer. They keep longer so we're not so tempted to eat them right away. Then EVERY DAY after lunch (I live for this time of day,) I pull one treat out of the freezer. It's great for sack lunches too. YUM, I love dessert.

I bake chocolate chip cookies at least once a week! One of my favorites 'add in' is to chop up candy bars (all kinds) and mix them into the dough - oh yummy!! I need your no bake cookie recipe - those look ultra good :) - Cheers to making up the GOOD STUFF!!

I love to bake anything! I have the same weekly philosophy as you do. I love to have something sweet around for the kids...and me of course!

I totally agree about the satisfaction of baking! There is something so wonderful about being able to create something that you can enjoy and that fulfills a basic need, such as eating. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I am a baker too. I was actually thinking the other day what I would do if I had my own bakery. That is so funny. Snickerdoodles are my absolute favorite cookie, and No-Bakes are awesome too. YUM-O
