My Thursday

SFFD Ambulance
Originally uploaded by So Cal Metro
After running quickly to Safeway for some BBQ sauce for my chicken legs, I was hit by another car. A red civic came screaming (45 mph) in a 30 mph zone through a red little and I hit the car. I was going about 30 mph and saw out of the corner of my eye that this car was not stopping. I I knew I was going to hit her so I slammed on my brakes and crash. I hit her front left bumper causing her to spin and then for me to spin and hit her again on the drivers side door. She spun again and ran backwards into a bank of trees. I spun two more times and came to a stop facing the opposite way I was going. I was hit in the face as my airbags deployed. I have a pretty bad knee injury and a chest contusion, and a bruise on my face from the air bags. My van is totaled and no rest in some towing yard in Richland. Lucky for me I was the only one in the car. My boys were safe at home with their dad. The other drive and I were taken to Kadlec Hospital and checked out. She is in much worse condition then I am. I was placed on the back board and put in a neck collar, I was checked out at the hospital. I had x-rays taken of my chest and knee, no broken bones. I am in a knee immobilizer and I am on crutches as well as heavy pain meds, anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers. I am doing ok but very shook up and sore. I am so grateful everyone is ok and that I did not have my boys with me. These next few days will be us trying to figure out what kind of car to replace the van with and what they will do about my knee. Anyway, I must give my dues were dues are do, I am so glad we got the KIA Van it really did it's job with its amazing safety features and crash test rating. So thanks KIA and my seatbelt.

Yikes, Sara! I'm so glad you guys are alright. I've got a Kia myself so it comforts me that the Kia did the job it was supposed to do!
