Casting Call

I thought I would finally share a little about Eva. My dear girl as some might remember was breech for a long time, during this time her little feet developed a condition called club feet. I was not aware of this and so as the doctor laid her on me I noticed her little feet. I remember saying "whats the deal with her feet?" I was not overly concerned or even that shocked. I knew how perfect she was and I just focused on her being healthy in every other way. The doctors reassured me that many children are born with this and that it is easily fixed.

Eva was seen in the hospital by her orthopedic doctor, and reassured me of how easy it is to fix them. She had her first set of cast put on when she was four days old. Today she got her first set removed and will have them changed each week. She is happy and doing very well. The cast do not bother her, they actually are more of a hassle for me, when I change her diaper. I love this little girl and she has such a wonderful spirit about her. I am excited to document her journey and to share her love with others.

I'm so glad she is doing so well and is happy. Those little casts are really cute too. They are so itty bitty. Keep us posted with her progress!

The title of your post brought a smile to my face after reading. I'm glad that your little babe is not bothered by the casts.
The excellent doctors know exactly what needs to be done and it looks as though they are taking excellent care of her.
So, do they keep straightening her little feet a little at a time by recasting?
Take care and enjoy that sweet little one.

The picture with the casts is both cute and sad. I hope all goes well with your beautiful little Eva.

Oh man! I just can't wait to squeeze her. She is perfect and those casts are so tiny! Good luck not getting poo on them.

Such a beautiful girl! And I think her little toes poking out are so cute!
It was crazy when I first saw her, she totally looks like you to me. Please call if you need anything!

She's precious, silly feet and all! I'm sure she's in great hands with the doctors and will be back to new soon!

I know what you mean about changing diapers with the casts! And do the casts clank together once in a while and wake her up? Our little Marcus, who is now serving a mission in New Zealand, had feet that looked very much like Eva's. He could "fold" his feet together like you and I would fold our hands together. Anyway, all is well now and I am sure with the help of great doctors that Eva will be fine. Call me if you ever want to talk about it. Megan has my number. Vanessa
