Courage

Where do we get courage from? Do we build it up as the years tick by or is it something that is just inherent in ones genes? Like the cowardly Lion said in the wizard of OZ
"What makes the sphinx the seventh wonder? Courage! What makes the dawn come up like thunder? Courage! What makes the Hottentot so hot? What puts the "ape" in apricot? What have they got that I ain't got? Courage!" What makes us courageous?

I know so many courageous women. I am awe struck at the courage these amazing women have, some are struggling with health problems, divorces, infertility, personal crisis and death. They just keep pushing on and fighting. Thank you for setting an example for me to follow.
I have tried hard lately to do things that are hard or uncomfortable, I have tried to find courage within to be the person that I know I am. I have had courage in small things and in big things.
I sometimes wonder if courage and faith our interlinked? When I am following the Lords will with blind faith I feel very courageous. I hope all of us can find the courage to do the hard stuff. To be the person we need to be. To have faith and courage to follow.

What makes someone courageous to you?

Like you in the fact of those that carry on through trials. I am in awe of them.

When we went to this Pioneer educational place recently, I really realized how noncourageous I was. Could I have done that really? I am amazed at them. Especially from a womans point of view. Giving up all security and go to the unknown. The scariest thing for me to think about. But yet, the carried on.

Thanks Sara for this post.

Oh boy. I often think about the inspiring courage of others. It's really hard to imagine my own response to some difficult situations. I like to think I'd react in a certain way, but I'm not sure. I find people who face adversity and fight, fight, fight so admirable. Those who shun negativity are corageous. Those who never, ever give up are amazing.
