Better Late then Never

I
have had little interest in setting new years resolutions, I feel like I have been in a serious funk lately but I decided to set a few goals for this year. Whether any of these goal are meet we shall see.

My New Years Hopes:

  • Be more content with just every day life (Some times I get a little side track thing other mothers lives are so much more meaningful and fun then mine and this tends to get me down, so instead of looking for something else, I will enjoy what I have)
  • Accomplish a half dozen "to do's" on this new/ old house or ours

  • Be more inspired by the scriptures and find more ways to use them in everyday teaching with the boys

  • Love every minute of the pure laughter and joy that comes from these two boys

  • Use natural resources more wisely and to be just a little more "green" this year

I guess when I think of 2008 I want to enjoy the little blessing that come from the small things we already have in life, like our children spouse, family, friends and neighbors. I want to be inspired by my life and use it to help others. I often feel so useless, and I want to make a large impact on the world by using the gifts and talents I have been blessed. So this year I will find a way to touch more then just my own home, I will do something that w
ill allow me to reach beyond my normal scope of service. I know these are grand ideas but I want to reach out. So look for my great idea to touch more lives coming soon.

Happy New Year!

This is so great. I love hearing people's resolutions because I get some insight into what other people feel they need to work on, and finally I feel like maybe I'm not the only one who struggles with stuff.
What you said about getting down about your life feeling like it has no meaning really hit a chord with me. I struggle with that a LOT. I have for years. I read an article last August I think in the Ensign about feelings of inadequacy and it was exactly what I'd been feeling. It helped me a lot.

I love the list and agree with Alicia.... I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wonders what her day is contributing to the world. :)
